Dream Machine

9pm $8 Adv. / $10 Door

“Along with his wife Doris, who steers the band’s distinctive organ sound, Melton and Dream Machine enter a black drape of dry ice and incense that’s dug deep into the prog mindset, snaking through the corridors of the ’70s on trills of organ that can’t help but bring to mind Iron Butterfly, Deep Purple or Rhinoceros.” - Andy

WHO IS DREAM MACHINE?

Matthew Melton is from Memphis, Tennessee and Doris was born in Bosnia but was raised in the Netherlands. Matthew has had different projects before Dream Machine such as Snake Flower 2, Bare Wires, Warm Soda, and solo projects. Matthew has recorded and produced all of his records himself at Fuzz City Records, his own record label, under which he has released various bands, including the band Part Time. They have an active YouTube channel at which they discuss analog recording methods and random topics.

All of the Dream Machine recordings have been captured using a mysterious tuning, namely that of A=432 Hz. This tuning is part of the Solfeggio frequencies. These Solfeggio frequencies are believed to profoundly affect the conscious and subconscious mind in order to stimulate healing and promote vitality. Dr Glen Rein made the profound discovery that UV absorption increases 5 to 9% when listening to Gregorian and Sanskrit chants in A=432Hz. It is indisputable that music therapy and Solfeggio frequencies have a profoundly healing effect on the human body and parasympathetic nervous system activation; the part of the nervous system that promotes cell growth and DNA repair. Being stuck in the fight-or-flight nervous system is what promotes disease and suffering in the world; pair that with all other factors that synergistically harm us humans, such as excessive news media consumption, being generally overworked people, and the stresses of modern day-to-day life. The addition of music being tuned to disharmonious A=440Hz is bound to make things worse and this is why we oppose this conventional method of tuning.
